The Foundation for New Media,
Inc., incorporated in 1990 and led by award-winning filmmaker
Robert Clem, is a publicly supported nonprofit organization
whose purpose is to develop and produce educational and
cultural programming for public television and radio broadcast,
with subsequent distribution in video format for educational
users. New Media productions have been supported by a wide
range of foundations, corporate sponsors, individuals, the
National Endowment for the Humanities(NEH), the Southern
Humanities Media Fund. and nine state programs of the NEH,
including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi,
North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
